Ben Davis Lions Club Scholarship was established in 2004 and named in memory of Bill Uhrig Ben Davis in 2021. The purpose is to provide a students living within the Wayne Township and graduating from any high school serviced by the Wayne Township School Corporation.
The Ben Davis Lions Club is a part of Lions Clubs International, the largest service organization in the world. We are located on the Westside of Indianapolis, Indiana, near Ben Davis High School
The Ben Davis lions club Scholarship funds tuition, accommodation and boarding, books in college, university or career technical programs. The recipient of this scholarship award will represent qualities consistent with the objectives of Lions Club International. The Ben Davis Lions Club invites you to apply for a one thousand dollar ($1,000) scholarship to defray expenses for tuition, books, fees or room and board. Selection of recipients is based on a record of academic performance, school/community service and volunteerism, a well-rounded high school experience, and references from teachers, school officials or volunteer supervisors.
APPLICANT CRITERIA
- Student must have a 3.0 grade point average or better
- Student must plan to complete a program at an accredited college, university, or career and technical program.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS GIVEN TO
- Display of strong work ethic
- Display of strong leadership qualities
- Commitment to school and/or community thru service and/or activities
- Financial need will be considered
The Ben Davis Lions Club invites ANY student living within Wayne Township and graduating from any high school in the Wayne Township School Corporation to apply.
